The underlying theory behind reflexology is that there are certain points or "reflex areas" on the feet, hands and face that are connected energetically to specific organs and body parts through energy channels in the body.
Reflexology is a complementary health therapy involving the application of pressure to specific points on the feet, hands and face.
Reflexologists use specific thumb, finger, and hand massage techniques to manipulate reflex areas in the feet, hands, or face that correspond to all organs, glands, and parts of your body.
By stimulating these reflexes, the blood and nerve supply is increased to where the body needs it most.
Reflexology is not the same as a foot, face or hand massage. Nor is it a substitute for conventional medical treatment.
Reflexology will bring your body back into balance.
There are thousands of nerve endings in your feet, hands, face, which correspond to and send messages about specific parts of the body to and from your brain.
Through reflexology, any blockages in nerve and/or blood supply can be released, and your circulation is boosted which enables your body to heal itself.

The first initial treatment is usually the longest as this involves a full consultation including health, medical history and lifestyle. I will freshen up and look at your feet, hands or face whichever area we are working on, to examine colour, temperature, texture before beginning your treatment., cleanse them, relax them and then start the treatment. The most important thing is for you is to simply relax on the therapy bed which can be laid flat or raised up, listen to the relaxation music and enjoy your treatment.
After initial examination and treatment, I will be able to discuss my findings and advise you how many treatments you are likely to need. These will need to be spread over a number of weeks to enable the body to heal itself effectively and each treatment will be around an hour in length.
Reflexology helps maintain and restore health and is a safe, natural and gentle therapy that can be used on anybody. It can benefit men, women, young people, children and babies of all ages and, depending on the length of time a condition has been present, may improve or eliminate many ailments during the course of the treatment plan.
As Reflexology is not intrusive, there are very few side effects to treatment. Most people feel very relaxed or sleepy and enjoy a good night’s sleep, though some are highly alert and refreshed and full of energy. A common side effect is an increased number of visits to the toilet as Reflexology encourages the elimination of toxins from the body.
After initial Reflexology consultation and treatment, your therapist will advise how many sessions may be required. The number of treatments you will need depends on your ailment or condition, how long you have had it and what you are hoping to achieve.
However, the frequency of treatments is entirely up to you, finances, commitments and your own personal preference.
